The Stygian Song Competition (often shortened to SSC) is an Online Competition in the style of Eurovision. The Contest launched on 1st June 2022, when the Owner
Dänny signed a contract with the Stygian Broadcasting Union which allowed the show to be broadcasted across the Globe. The headquarters for the contest is currently based in London, United Kingdom and has been based there since June 2022. The current Executive Producer of the contest is Danny.
Each Countries Head of Delegation selects an entry through either Internal or using National Selections, ultimately resulting in the selected songs for each show. Each Delegation then submits 2 Sets of votes to the contest, one representing the Professional Juries of their country and the other representing the Online Votes from their countries' viewers. The contest is broadcasted currently in Europe and Associate Broadcasters only, therefore a Rest of the World vote is collected from all the other Broadcasters that watch the show. In the end, all votes are collected and turned into the Traditional Eurovision Voting System, causing the country with the most votes to be declared the Winner of the Competition.
The Contest is connected and supported by the Stygian Broadcasting Union. Thus is the group of Broadcasters that participate and broadcast the contest in their country, either via Television or Radio. There are currently 38 Members of the Union, with the Full List of SSC Members that can be found by clicking the link. Countries from outside the Broadcasting Union are allowed to compete every, going through a "Pre-Qualification Round" in order to find the most popular songs from the Associate Countries.
About the Contest
On 1st June 2022, Danny formed a new Broadcasting Union with 38 TV & Radio stations across the globe - entitled the Stygian Broadcasting Union (or SBU). This union signed a contract with the Contest producers in order to broadcast and compete in the contest. The name "Stygian Song Competition" was decided after all 38 Delegations discussed the production, and referenced a connection to Sound. The First Edition commenced on the 1st June 2022, when the Official Trailer was released on the Contests' YouTube Channel. This sparked competing Broadcasters to find a Head of Delegation that would be in charge of their Participation for the upcoming Edition.
The Stygian Broadcasting Council currently consists of 3 members, each of them specialising in a specific area for managing the contest. Cameron, Conor & Rodrigo are the Current Members as of the 1st June 2022. Conor is the current Co-Owner of the Contest, whom steps in as Executive Producer when Danny is unavailable. Since the First Edition, the TerraVision Broadcasting Council have been responsible for verifying that all 38 Participants correctly submit songs and votes to the correct people.
Contest Branding
The most important aspect of the Stygian Song Competition is it's Unique branding. The Logo of the contest features the Name, with the Colors of the Hosting Country divided into 3 Diagonal Strips, placed behind the Contests' name. "Song Competition" is written directly underneath and follows the same Diagonal as the rest of the logo. The fonts used are "Mutheria" and "Montserrat".Theme Arts are also created in order to advertise the contest across Europe. Each theme art has an individual reference to either the host city, the winning entry or something significant to the current edition. "Facets" or Centrepieces play a crucial part in the Theme Arts, the flags of each participating Country is usually imported to match the facet and is a branding point for the individual delegations, and their preparation of Designs for National Selections. All National Selections in the TerraVision Song Contest have been broadcasted all across Europe, thanks to the SBU licencing agreement.
